Duties/Pligte
The job description entails a wide variety of functions relating to organising, coordinating and monitoring activities of the Biostatistics Unit, including:
- Administrative coordination for MSc Biostatistics and PhD Biostatistics;
- Coordinating the biostatistics consultations;
- Maintaining the monitoring database of Biostatistics consultation and other support;
- Liaising with relevant staff and University Departments;
- Providing administrative support to the staff of the Biostatistics Unit;
- Coordinating project related travel and accommodation;
- Assisting with budget planning;
- Output capturing and reporting;
- Short course setup, registration and advertising within Stellenbosch University;
- Processing payments and liaising with the Grant Management Office.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
A relevant tertiary education qualification (for example, B.Ed); More than five years' experience in:
- Seamless diary management for consultancies and projects;
- Providing administrative, financial and secretarial support at tertiary education level;
- Liaising with postgraduate students, lecturers, supervisors, examiners in a virtual and physical environment;
- Organising, coordinating and monitoring postgraduate teaching activities at University level;
- Coordinating workshops and effective management of short courses at tertiary education level;
- Working at a medicine and health science tertiary education facility.
- Excellent communication skills.
Recommendation/Aanbeveling

Experience of communication and engagement with diverse groups; - Competence and experience in MS Excel and MS Access or similar database software.
